Below is a list of all the contests for the 2026 Fair:

Tuesday – September 1, 2026 

Backseat Driver Contest 8:00 pm 

Registration will be available to enter 15 minutes before the start time, if space allows, at the information booth. 

  • 5 Minute time limit per team 
  • The first 20 teams (2 per team) will compete
  • Waiver to sign at registration 
  • The driver must be 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license 
  • Teams of 2 will compete in a golf cart on a designated obstacle course

Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

Rules and instructions will be given to teams at registration. 

Wednesday – September 2, 2026 

Lodge Cast Iron / Cornbread Challenge 7:00 pm 

Bring your entry to the NEW Exhibit Hall Food Stage, located in the back of the Exhibit Hall Building between 6:00pm to 6:30pm for check-in. Judging will begin at 7:00pm sharp. 

Entry Deadline: August 30th

Rules:

  • All entries must be made from scratch. NO store-bought mixes.
  • Must be brought in a 12” Lodge Cast Iron Skillet.
  • You may enter both Divisions.
  • Must have a 3”x5” card with a typed or neatly handwritten recipe.
  • $5 entry fee (to enter one or both) includes fair admission for the contestant only.
  • Open to anyone 10 years old and up.

1st Place – $50 Cash & Lodge Prize Package 2nd Place – $25 Cash & Lodge Prize
3rd Place – $10 Cash & Lodge Prize

Thursday – September 3, 2026 

Banana Pudding Contest  – Judging Begins at 6:00 pm

Bring your Banana Pudding: Thursday, September 3rd between 5:00pm to 5:30pm to the Exhibit Hall Stage at the back of the Exhibit Hall. Must be a Tennessee resident and 18 years of age or older.

  • One entry per contestant.
  • Pudding must be cooked (NO instant pudding).
  • Must have a meringue-type topping.
  • Entry must be made on the day of the contest and brought in ready to serve.
  • No decorations on or around the entry.
  • Entry must be brought in a disposable pan.
  • Judging will be based on appearance and taste.
  • Any entry not picked up one hour after the contest will be discarded.
  • You must register online by August 31st.
  • Prizes awarded immediately after the judge’s decisions.
  • You MUST have two Ready to Cook Pudding boxes or one box of Vanilla Wafers at the entry gate to receive free admission.

1st Place – $150
2nd Place – $75
3rd Place – $25

Donations will go to the Sevier County Food Ministry. (Two puddings = one free admission, or one box of wafers = one free admission.)

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Competitions 6:00 – 9:00 pm 

Competitions will take place on the stage such as the Prepared Speech (Elevator Pitch) and other events then judged live for the premium.

Sevier County Fair Got Talent Show 7:00 pm

Cost to Register is $15 

Deadline to register and submit your track is August 28th. 

Contest will take place on the food pavilion stage.  Slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Friday – September 4, 2026 

Lego Bricktopia Team Build 6:00 pm

Sign in: 5:45pm | Start Build: 6:00 pm | Judging: 7:00 pm 

  • Teams have one hour to build
  • All skill levels are welcomed 
  • The completed project is the property of the fair
  • All teams must breakdown their builds once the contest is completed
  • No instructions, pictures, phones, plans at the table, or anyone helping who is not in the build. You will be disqualified
  • Judging will be done onsite and immediately after build
  • Judge’s results are final

Prizes Awarded to Top 3 Teams

Limited to 8 teams

Saturday – September 5, 2026 

Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge 5:00 pm 

  • Each team of two members receives the same 200 large piece puzzle. Limit space – only 10 teams!
  • No one gets to see the puzzle until the timer begins. Boxes are placed facedown until start.
  • Teams try to put the puzzle together the fastest. Placing is based on fastest times.
  • If there is no declared winner by 6:00pm, the winner is chosen by the remaining number of loose pieces for each team. In the event of a tie, the tied teams will be given an extra five minutes.
  • No devices or outside assistance permitted while working on the puzzle.
  • No food or beverage (except water) is permitted in the contest area.
  • No one is allowed to distract or approach team tables when the competition is in progress.
  • FREE to enter with your fair admission. Pre-register below. 
  • Check-in at the Information Booth by 4:30pm for directions.
  • Prizes paid per team. By participating, you accept all rules & agree to the judge’s final decision.

Blue Ribbon Bake Battle 5:00 pm

Plein Art at The Fair

Entry Deadline August 30th at 3:00 pm – Registration is $10

  • Registration fee includes your 16×20 fair stamped canvas and your fair admission.
  • Artists are required to provide other supplies. Acrylic paint is suggested for quicker drying.
  • Artists are required to paint an object, landscape, or scene at the 2026 Fair onsite Wednesday, September 2nd – Saturday, September 5th during fair hours.
  • Artists will be given a special pass to enter the fair FREE of charge to paint as often as needed during fair hours. Parking is always FREE.
  • Artists may come to the fairgrounds Sunday, August 30th or Monday, August 31st 10:00am to 3:00pm to scout for best location.
  • All paintings must be turned in no later than Saturday, September 5th at 10:00pm at the Information Booth.
  • Judging will be held on Saturday, September 5th , after fair closes.
  • Winners will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall on Sunday, September 6th & Monday, September 7th .

1ST Place – $75
2ND Place – $50

Plein Air Painting is the manner or style of painting developed chiefly in France in the mid-19th century focused on outdoor painting. We invite you to come pick a spot and paint outdoors during our fair.

Monday – September 7, 2026

Cosplay Contest

Dress up as any character from any book, movie, TV Show, video game, or web series. Located in the Food Pavilion in the Sevier County Fairgrounds during the Sevier County Fair.

Entry Deadline: September 1st.

You may also register on the day of the event from 3:00pm – 6:30pm. Registration is mandatory to take part in the contest. Pre-judging will take place after completed forms and exhibitor numbers are issued.

This event is a family event. All costumes must be G, PG, or PG13. NO STORE-BOUGHT COSTUMES. NO harmful or potentially harmful materials are allowed. NO pets or live animals of any kind. NO REAL WEAPONS OF ANY KIND.

Cash/or Prizes for all divisions.

FAIR ADMISSION $8.00 MUST BE PAID TO ENTER THE FAIR AND THE CONTEST. All props MUST go through the props checkpoint at the fair entrance.
